Rock Steady

Meet the band

Four personalities. One unforgettable night out.

Different corners of rock, one crowd-first band - faithful arrangements, plenty of personality, and no interest in playing it safe.

Maija, Rock Steady lead singer, holding a microphone

Lead vocals

Maija

Maija is Rock Steady’s powerhouse lead singer, fueled by post-punk, punk, Frank Zappa, classic R&B, and anything with a little attitude. Her influences range from The Damned, Buzzcocks, and Nina Hagen to Tina Turner, which explains both the voice and the swagger. She’s also on a lifelong mission to find a mic-check phrase more creative than “things, lists, lists of things.”

Guitar & vocals

Mike

Mike Ross brings riffs, muscle, and the occasional airborne move to Rock Steady. His raw guitar style leads Rock Steady through some of the best rock songs ever by bands like Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Aerosmith, and ZZ Top. He’s a skilled slide guitarist who also sings a few favorites. Known as “GunZ” or “Capt. T,” Mike brings humor and energy to every show.

Keith playing bass with Rock Steady

Bass

Keith

Keith recently relocated from New Jersey and brings his bass groove to Rock Steady. He founded Soul Groove in 2003 and still performs with New Jersey bands The Kootz and Jukebox Memories whenever he heads east. Shaped by Motown and Philadelphia soul, he keeps the dance floor hopping with his ever-present Music Man Stingray — though his favorite gig remains the family jam with his brother Greg every Thanksgiving.

Ira Siegel playing drums with Rock Steady

Drums

Ira

Ira’s drumming is informed by diverse influences from prog to metal, but he’s meticulous about respecting the original style of every song he plays. He generates the pocket and holds the groove while simultaneously owning his crown as the reigning King of Jorts.
